Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Debuts This Month

I said I would bring you more information on Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom when I had it, and now I do and am. The game will open at the Magic Kingdom in late February, and because that’s only few weeks away, more and more and more details are emerging. First the official Disney Parks blog rounds out the story of the game. Players act as Merlin’s apprentice sorcerers. His crystal ball was broken into four pieces, which scattered around the Magic Kingdom. Merlin’s apprentices must race against more than 20 Disney villains to get the pieces back to Merlin … Continue reading

One More Disney Day Leap Year Extravaganza

It’s every kid’s dream: getting locked into Disney World overnight. While other Disney events have come close, notably Senior Trips/Grad Nites and New Year’s Eve parties, no one’s ever been allowed in a Disney Park in the middle of the night before. Or at least, a park has never been open to guests for a full 24 hours before. But now, both Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom will be. One More Disney Day is how the Disney Parks have chosen to honor Leap Year. It’s an event that only comes around every four years, so execs wanted to celebrate it … Continue reading

Extra Magic Hours for December 2007

Extra Magic Hours are a great added benefit to staying at a Walt Disney World resort. At no additional cost, guests staying at any one of the hotels at Walt Disney World can either enter a park one hour earlier or stay at a park three hours later than regular day guests. This cuts down on those long ride lines and can make your visit a bit more leisurely. Add to that the benefit of knowing you can take a boat, monorail or bus back to your hotel without fighting parking lot and Orlando traffic and most people breathe a … Continue reading

Leap to Help Frogs

If I lived in the Orlando area I would definitely buy a Walt Disney World annual pass. I’d especially consider doing so once I had children, and no, it isn’t so that I could drag a bunch of toddlers around the Magic Kingdom all of the time. Or try to get myself locked in there overnight to live out some childhood fantasies. Well, it wouldn’t be just for that. It’d be so I could play Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom. All right, I kid, though only sort of. No, I’d get a pass, and ones for my as-yet fictional children, … Continue reading

One More Day at Disneyland Too

When I wrote about One More Disney Day I made an oversight: I didn’t check to see if the event was exclusive to Disney World or if it’s happening at Disneyland as well. My article on the subject only mentions the Orlando park. Thanks to The Orange County Register I’ve found out that Disneyland is also celebrating Leap Year by keeping its gates open for a full 24 hours. In fact, the event is going to be basically the same as in Orlando: the fun starts at 6 a.m. on the 29th and will continue to that same early hour … Continue reading

Disney Junior to Become A Channel

On March 23 Disney will debut a brand new channel: Disney Junior. The announcement, in this case pulled from Disney fan magazine website DisZine, doesn’t come as that much of a surprise. In some of its marketing for new shows Disney has mentioned Disney Junior, though before this notice on the new channel I’m sure many, like me, just assumed that any relevant shows would air during Disney Junior (formerly known as Playhouse Disney) hours on its parent channel. Up until this point, Disney Junior has just existed as a scheduling block on the Disney Channel, one meant to indicate … Continue reading
