The Real Lesson Disney World Teaches

A few nights ago I was having a bedtime chat with my eldest son. You know, the chats which fall under the category of “stalling because I don’t want to sleep yet”? We were talking about traveling and how there were many places around the world that my husband and I hope to take the boys over the coming years, and how the first place on my list is Disney World. After establishing that yes, that is where Mickey Mouse and his friends lived, he wanted to know where it was and I said it was in America – a … Continue reading

What Your Kids Can Learn From Disney Films

It may sound completely ridiculous, but whenever I face a really trying task, I still remember this little song I learned as a child. That little nugget of knowledge came … Continue reading

Princess Sofia the First: Let’s Hope She’s the Last

Her royal highness is only still just a child, with her main peer group (i.e., the ages at which Sofia is directed) being children between the ages of 2 and 7. Sofia’s a true Disney original; unlike any of her predecessors she’s not based on a pre-existing character from a fairy tale, myth, or historical event. She’s going to … Continue reading

Are you looking for something good to throw in your DVD player this week? We just might have something that will fill the bill. We started out our week with a look at “The Magic School Bus: Creepy, Crawly Fun,” which teaches children some basic principles of science in a fun, entertaining way. You’ll be blown away by the effects and the charm of this film that blogger Heather Long called “Quite simply the best … Continue reading

What has Ms. Miller so upset? A recent article in the Daily News reported that the Islamic group Hamas is currently using this iconic figure as a teaching tool for Islamic radicalism. Seriously? Yes, seriously. Farfur the Mickey Look Alike Hamas’ Al-Aqsa television station began airing a program called Tomorrow’s Pioneers in April.
