This was a busy week for many of us in the United States with the 4th of July landing squarely in the middle of the week. It was busy at Disney World and other Disney parks as they celebrated the 4th of July in a very Mickey fashion. It's also a week where we saw the announcement of the vault opening to release the Jungle Book once more. So let's take a look at our week in review.

Monday, July 2

Disney & The Fractured Fairytale took a look at the upcoming Disney release: Enchanted. Enchanted will combine live action with tradition 2-D hand animation to tell the story of a princess thrown down a magical well by an evil queen on the day of her wedding. The princess finds herself in the middle of Manhattan and hilarity ensues. Disney is taking a risk with this fractured fairytale as it lampoons a great deal of what makes a Disney fairytale a Disney fairytale. The film is due out in November.

Tuesday, July 3

A lot was happening at Disney World recently and in Disney World in the News we looked at the beefed up security in Downtown Disney, the reports of the pipe bomb that exploded and the death of veteran animator Art Stevens.

Wednesday, July 4

Happy 4th of July! In addition to the Immigration swearing in service taking place at Cinderella's Court in the Magic Kingdom, we put the 4th of July Schedule at Walt Disney World up so you could find out the times of the parades, fireworks and more at your favorite Disney locations.

Thursday, July 5

Disney Plans to 'Wii' Your Girls with two new games launching this fall, one for the Nintendo DS and the other for the Nintendo Wii, Playstation 2 and PC. The games feature princesses and Disney is specifically targeting young girls with their new video game strategy in an effort to encourage good sales during the holiday season.

Friday, July 6

The Vault Opens: Mowgli Returns to DVD this November for a limited time, you can purchase the 40th anniversary edition of this beloved Disney Classic. The Jungle Book was the last animated Disney classic to receive Walt's personal touch and it has continued to inspire kids for generations.
