When you plan your vacation to Walt Disney World can make a huge difference in your vacation budget. Certainly most people have to plan according to when they can take their vacation time from work and when the kids are out of school, but if you have some flexibility in your schedule, playing the seasons at Walt Disney World can really help out.

The best time to travel to Walt Disney World and stay at a Disney Resort is the Value Season. There are three Value Seasons throughout the year. They are from New Year's Day to just before Valentine's Day, the beginning of August to the beginning of October and then just after Thanksgiving to just prior to Christmas are the best times to travel. These are the slowest seasons for visitors to Walt Disney World and that means cheaper hotel rates as well as shorter lines at your favorite rides and attractions.

In contrast, the Holiday Season and Peak Season are the worst times to travel to Walt Disney World. The Holiday Season begins on December 19th, 2008 and ends on New Year's Eve. While Walt Disney World has a great deal of fun to offer during the Holiday Season, you will find that you are paying a pretty penny for it.

Peak Season usually coincides with everyone's Spring Break and is in the middle of winter when those who live in the North are craving some fresh air and sunshine without the snow. In 2008, the Peak Season begins on Valentine's Day and ends at the end of March.

Coming in just after Peak Season is the Summer Season. Families traditionally take their vacations in the Summer when the kids are out of school and the weather for traveling is good. Personally, I find summers in Florida rather oppressive. The temperature and humidity are high and this leads to a whole lot of uncomfortable, cranky people waiting in very long lines for every attraction at every park.

If your vacation schedule is flexible enough, check out the 2008 Season Schedule that I've included with this blog when planning your 2008 visit to Walt Disney World. Saving from $50 to $120 per night on your resort stay can make a huge difference in your Disney experience.
