Tips for Disney World Resort Hotel Stays

Today I just learned about a new Disney resort: the Disney Yacht Club resort.  When I say new, I don’t mean that it’s about to be built or to open, but that I had never heard of it before.  The resort’s been around since 1990.  There are just so many hotels at Disney World, it’s hard to remember them all or keep them all straight. It can be a dilemma for those looking to plan a Disney World vacation.  You may have crossed the first hurdle – deciding whether or not you’re going to stay on site – but you … Continue reading

Mickey Meets the Caffeine Siren: Starbucks at Disney Parks

You can get anything you want inside a Disney park except, apparently, good coffee. Whenever I’m researching Disney park secrets I find some about hidden food gems within the park, and that always includes where you have to go to actually find a decent cup of Joe at Disney. Soon coffee lovers won’t have to seek out the few shops or stands where they can get their caffeine fix. The Disney parks announced last week that they’ve just entered into a partnership with Starbucks to bring the world famous coffee chain into their California and Florida locations. No official date … Continue reading

Check into a Disney Character Room

I’m torn between two very different impulses when thinking about my eventual Disney World vacation. One part of me wants to keep the vacation simple, to stay in a hotel with a kitchen outside of the resort so I can save money on lodging and food. That’s the part of me that will probably win out. If I’m to afford a Disney vacation, that’s likely what I’ll have to do. But there’s another part of me, the kid still in there that’s especially pushing me to make that trip to Orlando. That part doesn’t necessarily want to go all out, … Continue reading

One More Disney Day Leap Year Extravaganza

It’s every kid’s dream: getting locked into Disney World overnight. While other Disney events have come close, notably Senior Trips/Grad Nites and New Year’s Eve parties, no one’s ever been allowed in a Disney Park in the middle of the night before. Or at least, a park has never been open to guests for a full 24 hours before. But now, both Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom will be. One More Disney Day is how the Disney Parks have chosen to honor Leap Year. It’s an event that only comes around every four years, so execs wanted to celebrate it … Continue reading

Bedtime Story Now Airing at Disney World Hotels

If you stay in a Walt Disney World resort, you won’t have to do anything for yourself. Well, that isn’t exactly true, but Disney prides itself on offering special luxuries and letting you just sit back and relax for your vacations. They’re constantly adding new amenities to their resorts, and the latest is certainly unique. Every night from 6 p.m.-10 p.m. channel 38 on the televisions in Disney World resort hotels play a read-along clip from the new children’s book “Duffy the Disney Bear: Mickey’s New Friend.” That’s right: Disney World resorts are now offering to read your children their … Continue reading

Four Seasons to Open at Disney World

I’ve always thought one couldn’t take a much more luxurious vacation than a Disney vacation, and if one stayed at a fancy hotel in the Disney parks, one could have everything one might possibly want. It’s probably because I’ve never stayed in anything close to a luxury hotel, but apparently none of the options are quite fancy enough. That’s the only reason I can think that Disney World’s letting an outside hotel chain into its premises, even if it is a Four Seasons. USA Today reports that the “ultraluxury” hotel chain has reached a deal with Disney World to build … Continue reading

Planning To Do Disney in 2007? Don’t Forget Fido!

Everyone knows Disneyland and the Walt Disney World amusement parks are the happiest places on earth, but most associate such conviviality with children and families. Well, Disney’s concept of family is truly all-encompassing. They strive to accommodate the needs of the youngest at heart and the oldest, as well as the four-legged. Yes, you read right. Fido, Rover, and Fluffy are welcomed guests, too. Not in the parks (unless they’re service dogs), but at any of the on-site kennels. But, like anything, there are some rules you need to follow if you’re planning to bring your family pet along on … Continue reading
