ElecTRONica Debuts Tonight

I have to admit that when I think of Disney, one of the last things that comes to mind is “dance party.” But the Disney Parks specialize in trying to bring their guests every entertainment, and dancing the night away is no exception. Of course, this being Disney, if Imagineers can wrangle a tie-in to one of the company’s movies, they will. This December sees the highly anticipated release of the decades-in-the-making sequel to “Tron”: “Tron Legacy.” To drum up buzz for the film’s December 17 release, the Disney Parks blog announces “ElecTRONica,” Disneyland California Adventure’s newest party zone, opening … Continue reading

What Is DisneyQuest?

Lately many articles I write seem to be giving me other ideas for more, as I learn about new Disney topics I’d like to explore. Today’s inspiration comes from my New Year’s Eve article; one of the settings at Disney World for end-of-the-year celebrations was DisneyQuest. I’d never heard of the attraction before, so I did some research and now I’m bringing what I’ve learned to you. The Disney World website describes DisneyQuest as an “indoor interactive theme park” with a “one-of-a-kind gaming experience.” Think restaurants like Dave & Busters or even just a classic indoor arcade, but with a … Continue reading

Disney World New Year’s Eve Celebrations

Why is it that I can find more details on New Year’s Eve events at the Disney parks than I could for Christmas? Probably because Disney kicks off its Christmas events around a month early, so the day itself doesn’t really feature anything unique. At least I can bring you scoop on Disney’s party plans for New Year’s Eve. Obviously both parks will have roaring parties all night long complete with music, fireworks, and parades. Tickets to the Magic Kingdom’s party, however, are already sold out. But the official Disney Parks blog just posted about some of the other celebrations … Continue reading

Special Military Deals for Disney Parks

In 2011 the Disney parks are launching a special military discount campaign and to prove their commitment to the idea, the specials actually start now. The official Disney parks blog recently published details on its 2011 military discounts, which are currently in effect and run through September 28, 2011. The specifics differ a bit between Disney World and Disneyland. Let’s start with the original Anaheim park. At Disneyland active or retired personnel of any branch of the military OR (but not AND) their spouses have the option of purchasing special park-hopper tickets. The Disney Military Promotional 3-Day Park Hopper Tickets … Continue reading

Mickey’s Halloween Parties

Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday. I love the candy and I love dressing up, and Halloween also summons sweet childhood memories about trick-or-treating with my friends and having autumn sleepovers (my best friend growing up’s birthday was two days before Halloween). So of course I’m excited to share what the Disney Parks’ plans are for the 2010 spooky holiday. Disney already excels in Halloween celebrations; their 1993 film “Nightmare Before Christmas” is one of my favorite to watch during this time of year (and then again at Christmas) and contains in my opinion one of the only good Halloween … Continue reading
