Disney's American Idol? Maybe So!

If you were watching "American Idol" this week when David Cook was announced as the winner, then you likely heard him shout "I'm going to Disney World." So what's up with that? Apparently an "American Idol Attraction" is in the works for Disney because the popular attraction about realizing a personal dream goes hand in hand with making dreams come true and what else is Disney about but dreaming big?

2009

The "Americal Idol Attraction" is scheduled to be open in January of 2009 at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Guests will be able to experience the audition, the performance, the competition and the judging of performances in this live interactive experience.

The auditioning process will be open to everyone who can register and these guests will get to perform live in front of one of the show's producers with a chance to be cast into the live show. Lucky guests who prove vocal talent will get to work with the vocal coach, make-up and hair.

The audience will get to vote and the guests who get the highest votes will compete at the end of the day in a Grand Finale show. The winners of the Grand Finale will then get a chance to guarantee their reservation at the future regional audtions for the television show -- but all that means is not standing in a long line for hours on end.

Can you imagine? Go to Disney World for a vacation and leave with a possible reservation to be on American Idol? Really not a bad gig if it works out. Personally as someone who can't carry a tune in a bucket with the lid welded on, I think it would be fun to watch, but I've no aspirations beyond that.

What about you?
