Disneyland News - The New Haunted Mansion Bride

Her heart beats loudly in the attic. She's lived up there for years. Never moving from her spot that allows her a nice view of those who visit her. The thousands of visitors a day that just sit there and stare.

She must have gotten tired of it. Moved on to bigger and better things. Perhaps found a lonely house in Louisiana or Connecticut. Because, if you visit the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland anytime soon, you'll notice that she's no longer there.

The mysterious woman, or should I say entity, that I'm talking about is the resident bride that lives in the attic of Disneyland's Haunted Mansion. Since the ride's debut, the bride with the glowing, beating heart has resided in Disneyland and Disney World's mansion. However, visitors to Disneyland's Haunted Mansion might be surprised to find that the "entity" is no longer there.

Replacing the former bride of the Haunted Mansion is a "new and improved" bride complete with dialogue, realistic flowing motion, and a bouquet that dissolves, slowly and mysteriously replaced with a shiny axe which the bride has allegedly used on her former husbands.

The bride is a first step in what many feel will soon become a full-on revamp of the classic Disney attraction. So far, feedback on the bride has been positive. However, can such a classic Disney attraction withstand a reboot?

This summer, Disney will unveil it's Pirates of the Caribbean refurb complete with Captain Jack Sparrow, Barbossa, and, new film villain, Davey Jones. However, the additions to the Haunted Mansion are not as familiar to park visitors and may have a bit more difficult time convincing fans of the park that such a change was needed.
