Disneyland Martial Arts Festival

The Disneyland Martial Arts festival is going on this weekend at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. This event is open to all ages and all martial arts skill levels. Competitors and spectators from all over the world will be there to compete in and enjoy a wide variety of martial arts.

There will be competitions in all of the following martial arts disciplines:

* Bout Fighting

* Chinese Martial Arts

* Classical Japanese and Okinawan Karate and Kobudo

* Ed Parker Sr. Kenpo

* Filipino Martial Arts

* Judo

* Sport Jujitsu

* Kajukenbo

* Koshiki Continuous Contact Karate Sparring

* Olympic Style Tae kwon do

* Open Karate/Martial Arts

* Sport Grappling (No-Gi/Gi/Combined Martial Arts)

* Savate Continuous sparring

* Tiger Claw National Elite Championship Qualifier (Black Belt Only)

The Tiger Claw National Elite Championship Qualifier is the first of eleven national qualifiers for the Tiger Claw National Elite Circuit Championship part of Walt Disney World's Martial Arts Festival which will be held on October 24, 25 and 26, 2008 at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

In addition to all of these competitions, there will also be seminars and an expo.

Sunday, February 17, will be Magical Martial Arts Day in Disney's California Adventure Park. This special day includes a day of demonstrations as well as a pre-parade march of the athletes that participated in the Disneyland Martial Arts Festival. You'll need to get a park ticket for Disney's California Adventure Park unless you are an annual Disneyland Resort Passholder.

For those who may miss this weekend in California, the ninth annual Walt Disney World Martial Arts Festival will be held on Friday, October 24 through Sunday, October 26, 2008 at Walt Disney World's Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.
