Disney Dreamers Academy

Sometimes I wonder if I need to study other companies to the extent that I have Walt Disney Corp. I keep reading stories about it that make it seem like such a unique company for its levels of involvement in its community, but maybe many conglomerates are like that and I just don’t know about it. It wouldn’t surprise me if Disney was special, however, given its high consumer trust rating. Today I’m detailing another one of Disney’s philanthropic ventures, the Disney Dreamers Academy. The Disney Dreamers Academy, or for brevity’s sake the DDA, is a collaboration between Walt Disney … Continue reading

Clean the World the Disney Way

2010 stands apart in my book for the year of Disney volunteering. From the Give a Day, Get a Disney Day program to learning about the work Disney VoluntEARS do in their local communities, it’s clear that Disney has a strong current commitment to making the world a better place. The official Disney Parks blog shares a story about one of the VoluntEARS’ latest projects. The VoluntEARS from Walt Disney World Resort have partnered with Orlando-based nonprofit Clean the World to both promote the recycling of amenities and improve health in impoverished areas. Clean the World’s mission is to help … Continue reading

Disney World Bridal Studio Upgrade

Before, couples would travel to the Franck’s in person to meet with their wedding planner to iron out all the details on their upcoming Disney-themed nuptials. While it’s still necessary for couples to meet with … Continue reading

Benefit Sale for the United Way

In some ways working as a Disney blogger has hurt my love of the company. Researching Disney in order to write more about it has clued me in to some corporate practices that I just don’t like. But I try not to talk about that too often; for all that I don’t want to just blindly praise everything Disney does, I don’t want to be a downer all the time. I’m really excited, then, about a post I just saw on the official Disney Parks blog. On November 6, Downtown Disney will host a benefit sale to support the United … Continue reading
