Disney Value Resorts: All-Star Movies Resortby Lisa P | More from this Blogger 11 Sep 2007 12:58 PM Disney's All-Star Movies Resort is one of the several low cost, value resorts created to fill the need for more economical lodging at Walt Disney World. (Part of Walt Disney's dream was that Disney World would have accommodations to fit every budget.) The All-Star Movies Resort was designed around five classic Disney films: 101 Dalmatians, The Mighty Ducks, The Love Bug, Toy Story and Fantasia. There are five themed areas, one for each movie. The resort consists of ten three-story buildings for a grand total of 1,920 guest rooms. The guest room decor is colorful and is themed (wallpaper, bedspreads, shower curtains and drapes) according to the movie in whose wing it is. Each room is a spacious 260 square feet and has either two double beds or one king-size bed. While none of the rooms have balconies or patios, the basic necessities are provided. They include toiletries, housekeeping service, air conditioning, in-room safe, a phone with voice mail, table and chairs, armoire, hanging rod with hangers and a television with a remote control. Cribs and bed rails are available free on request and small refrigerators are available for a small daily fee. A limited room service menu consisting of pizza, subs, salads, wine and beer is available from 4pm to midnight. There are also a food court (where you can refill your mugs), three heated pools, a pool bar, playground, arcade, walking paths, coin laundry, gift shop and complimentary bus transportation to the Walt Disney World Parks for your convenience. Child care is also available for a fee. Why should you stay here? Walt Disney World Resort guests get the Extra Magic Hour and E-Ride nights at the theme parks. Complimentary transportation between Disney resorts and parks means no driving or parking headaches for you. The low prices for lodging at the value resorts are competitive with other low-cost rooms in the local area.
