Disney Theme Park Secret: The Shopper's Pass

Chances are, if you've visited the Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort, you've encountered a time when there was some piece of merchandise that you've left the park without and then found yourself regretting it. And, of course, the worst is when you're just about to leave the resort and you're completely out of days on your park pass.

This is where what's commonly known as a "Shopper's Pass" comes in handy. Technically, a Shopper's Pass is a One Day Pass. Buy the pass at Guest Relations at the front gate, return within one hour, and your price is refunded.

Here is how you redeem a Shopper's pass: Once you receive your pass, you enter the park and do what you need to do: buy a gift, pick up those ears you forgot, etc. After you're finished, you return to Guest Relations, present your pass and you'll be refunded for the price of the pass.

I've heard stories of how guests, unable to attend the night's fireworks show or parade the day before, have successfully used this method to see the event without paying for an extra day. Of course, make sure you check with the Guest Relations cast member to make sure there are no new stipulations on the pass. For instance, you can receive a Shopper's Pass for Universal Studios Orlando and Hollywood as well, but in order to receive your refund, you must present a time-dated receipt for your purchase.

The bottom line is, a Shopper's Pass is a great way to save money and still get those needed souvenirs before returning home.
