Disney Partners With KB Homes

Did you know that Disney makes furniture, flooring and window coverings? Well, if you're in the market to buy a new home and have some Disney fans in the family, look no further than KB Homes. They've recently signed an exclusive deal with Disney to market Disney-branded home furnishings and other products in their developments throughout the United States.

They're starting in central Florida, home to Walt Disney World, where KB Homes will feature eight model homes with Disney fashions. The full line of Disney branded options will also be available for review in KB Home's 15,000-square-foot studio in south Orlando in early 2008. That's when the furnishings will become available as options for new homes.

This is all part of an effort by Disney executives in the consumer products division to promote the company's branded products and make Disney more than just movies and toys but a leading lifestyle brand. With the recent slow down of the real estate market nationwide, it doesn't hurt KB Homes to have a little something that other developers do not. According to Jeffrey Mezger, KB Home's president and chief executive, "It's a very unique proposition that will help us sell homes, will raise our brand and will generate revenue for both companies." For those who are not familiar with KB Homes, they've also recently created a marketing partnership with Martha Stewart for a line of Martha Stewart homes and Martha Stewart communities. (Talk about some amazing kitchens!)

The eight communities in central Florida where you can see the Disney brand in KB Homes' model homes are:

Avalon Park, off Alafaya Trail in east Orange County.

Mallard Pond, off U.S. Highway 192 in St. Cloud.

Hammock Trails, off Ham Brown Road in Kissimmee.

Preserve at Eagle Lake, off State Road 417 in Sanford.

Arbor Ridge, off U.S. 441 in Apopka.

Southern Fields, off U.S. 27 in Clermont.

Landings at Sugar Mill, off Interstate 95 in New Smyrna Beach.

Bayberry Lakes, off LPGA Boulevard in Daytona Beach.

The decor and furnishings at these models is from the most popular characters and movies including Cinderella, Cars and Pirates of the Caribbean so bring your little princesses and pirates along for the peek.

Do you own a KB Home? You may have overpaid!

I work with a law firm that's launched an investigation into KB Home. Published reports indicate KB worked with Countrywide's appraisers to artificially inflate the appraisal values given to new KB homes.

Under this alleged agreement KB Home receives higher profits from inflated home sales and homeowners suffer large losses and unknowingly pay inflated prices.

If you are now or ever were a KB homeowner please visit www.hbsslaw.com/kbhomes. You can share your story or learn more about the investigation. The lead attorney also penned a blog on the subject today - check out www.classactionlawtoday.com for his thoughts.
