Disney Launches New Baby Store

Disney really is after what it thinks is the hottest new market: infants. They’re negotiating to have a presence in maternity wards and creating advice and social networking sites aimed at new and expecting parents, and now they’re opening stores specifically for their Disney Baby brand. To avoid confusion: the Disney Baby brand is not a line of Disney products featuring child versions of its characters, but sets of clothing, supplies, toys, and more, all for infants. USA Today reports that Disney has opened its first official Disney Baby store. So far it only has one location – a mall … Continue reading

Luxury Pet Resort Opening at Disney World

I spent awhile deciding whether or not to run this story on my pets blog or Disney. Because I focused more on the pets angle for this article, I decided to post it here. Disney may already be a bit pet-friendly with kennels at their parks, but given the company’s love for a no-holds-barred vacation experience, I’m only surprised they didn’t debut a full-blown pets resort sooner. That’s right: the official Disney Parks blog has details on the soon-to-launch resort aimed at making Disney World the Most Magical on Earth for the entire family, four-legged members included. Disney’s always had … Continue reading

How Much Does Your Pet Influence Your Lifestyle?

A week or two ago, I saw a story on Today about people who take their pets to work. I didn’t catch the full story, however. I think it was really more about how much pets influence some people’s lives. All aspects of it. Work One of the men profiled in the Today piece explained how he had moved his workplace for his dog. Apparently he runs his own business and leases office space. When a landlord prohibited pets from being in the building, the man went and found more accommodating office space elsewhere. But other people who didn’t own … Continue reading

Disney: Coming to a Store Near You

Never mind that my living room already looks like a disheveled Disney Store stockroom, those crafty folks at Mickey’s head office want my daughter to beg me for even more Winnie the Pooh and Donald Duck merchandise. If you have children (or are simply an observant shopper) you likely know all about the savvy marketers over at Disney who have come up with innovative ways to sell their diverse array of everyday products. From Disney vitamins to Disney fragrances, Disney fruit snacks (my daughter is partial to the “Little Einsteins” ones) to Disney shampoos, Disney toothpaste, and Disney soap. Store … Continue reading

New Disney Fragrances—For Boys

I grew up in a house filled with brothers and it’s no secret that their rooms… and more importantly… their bodies didn’t always smell shower fresh. Obviously, this is not a problem exclusive to my brothers because now Disney is coming out with a way for boys to smell their best. So much for the rancid scents of sweat, mud and grass. Disney is rolling out “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Buzz Lightyear” fragrances targeting boys ages 4 to 11 in Latin communities. According to Disney, the products will sell for about $10 to $20 and will be in stores … Continue reading

Want a whimsical Christmas decorating idea that comes straight from the wonderful world of Disney? Here is a cute idea that you’ll want to try over and over again. Have you seen the movie Enchanted, yet? With all of the previews, movie clips and interviews, I feel as though I have already seen the movie, even without actually going to the theater. Photography Potpourri—-NO To “Cheese” and YES to Hats

In the last couple of weeks I’ve provided tips on how to capture frameworthy shots and what to do when you don’t have enough frames to preserve your prize-winning photos. Shooting the perfect picture and organizing the end results… you’d think I would have exhausted all of my advice by now, but you’d be wrong. I have a few additional tips I wanted to share with you. (When my daughter was an infant she would wear a different hat nearly everyday.) JUST SAY NO TO “CHEEEESSSSE.” It’s the universal method for getting photo subjects to smile (or least contort their … Continue reading
