This summer, Walt Disney World will have a new Innoventions exhibit at Epcot. The title of this exhibit will be "StormStruck: A Tale of Two Homes". StormStruck will focus on disaster preparedness and how to make your own home safe for when the next storm hits.

The Fifteenth Annual Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival For 75 days, from March 19 to June 1, 2008, Epcot will celebrate "Fun in the Sun" with the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. You can see millions of blooms and the largest collection of Disney Topiary anywhere.

Disney's House of the Future (see photo) opened in 1957 at Disneyland in California. It was a Jetsons style, plastic, pod shaped home that had such exciting futuristic things as hands free phones, wall-sized televisions, plastic chairs, and electric razors and toothbrushes.

Every year, Walt Disney World has a Candlelight Processional at Epcot. This processional includes a musical performance with a mass choir and a 50-piece live orchestra accompanied by a celebrity narrator who retells the story of Christmas.

I know, I know. The acronym EPCOT was dropped back in 1994 for the simple non-word Epcot. EPCOT originally stood for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. It was Walt Disney's dream that EPCOT would be a real city.

Did you know that is what Epcot means? We forget sometimes that E.P.C.O.T. is an acronym and not just a name. 25 years ago, Epcot was opened. The original plan for this area was not necessarily an amusement park, but rather as a city of its own.

I wasn't living in Scandinavia when I visited Epcot, so it's as though life has a funny way of working things out, because the Norway Pavilion was actually my favorite part of the World Showcase part of the park.

If you're anything like me, you may think that Epcot doesn't offer quite as much fun for kids as adults. It always seemed to me that my young son would not enjoy Epcot as much as he would the Magic Kingdom, or Animal Kingdom. Boy was I wrong.
